The beautiful race track of Red Bull Ring in Austria, hosted Round 2 of the ADAC Formula 4 Championship. Under incredible hot temperature, the young Venezuelan driver was not quite able to put a good lap together in qualifying and so only started Race 1 from P19. He had a great start though and thanks to his good race pace, he was able to end the race in 12th position.
Starting position for Race 2 depends on the 2nd fastest qualifying lap. Starting in 17th position, he did a great start and, just like in race 1, he recovered many positions finishing in 9th position at the end which means he finished in the points.
Race 3 starting position depends on the results of Race 1, so he started P12. At the first corner there was a big crash at the front. Red flag was deployed but luckily none of the drivers where severely injured. Jonathan was able to avoid the big crash where many cars were involved. At the restart, he was able to overtake a couple of cars more and at the end finished with an excellent 5th place considering he started way at the back.
Currently, Jonathan Cecotto is leading the Rookies Championship in front of Zhou Guan Yu from China and Mick Schumacher from Germany.
