Press Release GSM Racing:
A PODIUM IN RACE 2 AT PAUL RICARD GIVES THE FOURTH PLACE TO GSM RACING IN THE LAMBORGHINI SUPER TROFEO
A great championship final took place at the Paul Ricard Circuit in France. After a fifth place in Race 1, Jonathan Cecotto and Patrick Liddy gave their best in Race 2. Although starting from the fifth row with the tenth time, Patrick Liddy handed the car to Ceccotto at the obligatory pit stop in fifth position. Cecotto himself fought to the last to move up a few positions and, one minute from the end, he managed to move to third position and cross the finish line, thus conquering another podium for the team as well as recording the fastest lap in the race. "It was nice to finish the championship with a podium" declared Cecotto. "I am happy with my performance and also with the team with whom I worked very well this weekend. The car was fast and the pace very good. I would have liked to have had a few more laps to go and get those in front but it is good like this”. Satisfaction also from Patrick Liddy who declared: “What a way to end a season! Thanks to great work from all the guys on the team, we had a beast of a car. I was able to get a killer start and go from 10th to 2ns. We finished 3rd at the end: I am very pleased with the result and greatful to the team for all their hard work”. Team Principal Andrea Grillini is also satisfied with this end of the season. “To be our first year in such an important championship, I can only be satisfied. We have always been competitive and have fought with teams that have been racing for much longer than us in this championship and always in the top 5. I thank the mechanics for the great work and of course my sponsors who believed in this new adventure and have it made possible ".
