Round 2 of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo took place in the Formula 1 Grand Prix Circuit of Silverstone, England. After Monza where the win was quite close but lost due to a technical problem, the will to win was even greater in Silverstone.
Vito Postiglione did a great qualifying, setting pole position for race one. 0.7 seconds behind, Morris from Leipert Motorsport.
Jonathan Cecotto, who never raced in Silverstone, took 2nd place in his qualifying, behind Nemoto from Vincenzo Sospiri Racing.
In Race 1, Postiglione kept the lead of the race, setting also the fastest lap time of the race. He then gave the car on to Cecotto, which also kept the lead during his stint and so they won the race!
Race 2, Jonathan started in 2nd position and during the first part of the race stayed behind Nemoto who was leading the race. Vito Postiglione continued the 2nd part of the race, following Nemoto's team mate Abbate who was still leading the race. At 3 minutes to the end, Postiglione did a fantastic overtake on the outside for the lead of the race, and so the Postiglione-Cecotto from Team Imperiale Racing won also Race 2!
A fantastic weekend for them, they are currently leading the championship. 1 point behind them Nemoto/Abbate and in 3rd position, 2 points behind them, Breukers/Jefferies.
