Oschersleben Round 1, the first race of the season for the young Venezuelan driver Jonathan Cecotto. Starting 13th in Race 1, he was able to avoid different contacts in the first corners and was even able to overtake a couple of drivers. As he was battling for the 10th position, he lots a lot of time and got overtook by some cars behind him. Many safety cars were introduced during the race, at the end he finished in 12th position, and 3rd in the rookie classification.
Race 2, starting from 14th position, Jonathan was again able to stay away from many contacts, and even with many safety cars again, he finished in 11th position, 2nd in the rookie classification. Just outside the top 10, which would have given him points for the overall championship.
Race 3, starting in 12th position, he did a nice solid race again. Kept out of contacts and ended up in 9th position, just behind his team mate Joel Eriksson. Arriving in the top 10 gave him the first points for the ADAC Formula 4 championship already in the first race weekend!
"Overall, the first race weekend of the season was quite ok. I was able to finish all 3 races, and scored many points in the rookie championship classification. It was only my first race and there is space for lots of improvement. I will give my best again next race!" - Jonathan Cecotto
